Traffic chaos as prison van crashes
A KEY commuter route in Yorkshire was closed for several hours yesterday evening after a prison van carrying inmates collided with two vehicles and overturned on the carriageway.
The A64 between Leeds and York was shut near Tadcaster from 5pm until well into the evening after the G4 van carrying nine inmates from a prison in Hull to other jails around Yorkshire was involved in the accident.
Three prisoners were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No one else was hurt.
