Youths sought for ‘barbaric’ attack on goose

POLICE are investigating reports a goose was beaten to death in a “barbaric” attack by yobs in a Yorkshire coastal resort.

Officers were alerted by a member of the public who reported seeing three youths attacking 
the bird on Valley Road, Scarborough.

The man confronted the youths and they ran off in the direction of Tesco.

Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident at 6am last Thursday to contact them.

The youths have been described as male and aged between 16 and 18. They were all wearing jeans and T-shirts.

PC Holly Hornsby, of Scarborough police, said: “This was a pointless, barbaric act against a defenceless animal.

“It is important that we find out who is responsible and I am urging anyone who can help to identify the youths involved to come forward as soon as possible.”
