Cyclist injured in hit-and-run with motorbike on trail

POLICE have appealed for information after a 50-year-old mountain biker was injured in a hit-and-run incident involving an off-road motorbike.

The collision happened at around 5pm last Monday on the Trans Pennine Trail, between Hoyle Mill Road and Stairfoot roundabout in Barnsley.

Two-off road motorbikes came up behind the cyclist and one of the motorbikes collided with him.

The riders then left the scene without stopping, travelling in the direction of Barnsley.

The riders were described as being about 16.

The victim suffered grazes and bruises but did not require hospital treatment.
