Dental check-ups ‘open days’ offer

PEOPLE who have not visited a dentist for two years are invited to special ‘open access’ days at NHS practices across Bradford and Airedale.

Twenty eight practices across are opening their doors to new patients on Wednesday September 12.

A check-up and, if appropriate, a course of treatment will be offered to people who book an appointment in advance.

Previous open days attracted over 4,000 people to dentists in Bradford and Airedale.

This latest open access day is the result of funding dedicated to addressing the access issues in the district by NHS Airedale, Bradford and Leeds.

People can find out which practices are taking part by visiting: www.bradford.nhs.uk and clicking on ‘dental access days’, or by calling the patient advice and liaison service on 01274 237555.

Each practice has a maximum of 20 appointments to offer on a first come, first served basis and normal NHS charges and exemptions apply.

A fourth new NHS dental practice recently opened in the district and this new funding will help provide care to even more people.
