Dog charge againstjudge downgraded

A Crown Court judge charged with failing to keep proper control of her dog will be prosecuted for a less serious offence, a court heard.

Judge Beatrice Bolton, 57, was not at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court for the brief hearing. She is now charged with allowing her pet to give someone “grounds for reasonable apprehension” it could injure someone.

No pleas were entered at the hearing.
