“And Luger is one best general purpose dogs so a big thank you to Yorkshire Vets for sponsoring Luger in this way. Sponsoring police dogs helps us as a Force to reduce the amount of money we take from the public purse.”

Vet Roger Wilkinson of Yorkshire Vets said: “Yorkshire Vets have been proud to look after the West Yorkshire Police dogs for many years and support their amazing work. Over the years we’ve got to know many of them well and it’s nice to be able to help out when they occasionally run into problems - whether medical issues or injuries incurred in his daily duty.

“Luger is doing very well under treatment at present and we wish him all the best.”
