Driver hurt after police car goes wrong way down street

POLICE in South Yorkshire are seeking witnesses to a crash involving a police car travelling the wrong way on a one way street as its crew responded to an assistance call from colleagues.

The incident happened in Milton Road, Hoyland, Barnsley, on Sunday evening, November 21, according to the force. It was involved in a collision with a grey Mitsubishi Lancer car at about 8pm and a police spokesman said: "The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 51-year-old local man, was taken to Barnsley District General Hospital with a minor wrist injury. The police officers were uninjured." Witnesses should call 0114 2202970.
