Driver unscathed in costly collision

The driver of this white Lamborghini managed to walk away unscathed though his vehicle was less lucky after smashing into three parked cars and a fence in Leeds yesterday.

Officers soon started investigating the crash, which ripped the front and rear end off the high-powered Italian sports car – believed to be worth more than £100,000 – and left two stationary vehicles ‘undriveable’.

The drivers was heading along Globe Road in Holbeck towards Bridgewater Place, when he lost control of the luxury car on the bend under the railway bridge just after 8am. The vehicle then crashed into three cars parked in a lay by before hitting a fence. A city-centre worker, who heard the crash, said: ‘I thought the driver could be seriously injured and I was ready to call an ambulance.’ Picture: Simon Hulme.
