Dunkirk book writer to relive memories

AUTHOR Sinclair McKay will visit Halifax’s Victoria Theatre to share his research into one of World War Two’s most important moments – the battle of Dunkirk.

Mr McKay will discuss his new book, The Moments of Dunkirk, which draws on fresh interviews with veterans to paint a picture of the battle.

Mr McKay, of London, said: “With Dunkirk and World War Two, there is an added urgency; there’s a sense of history being just at the edge of living memory. The Dunkirk veterans I interviewed were all in their mid-90s and there is that sense that you want to capture every single word, every last story, every close-up detail.”

He is the author of several books. He will be appearing at the Victoria Theatre on Sunday, September 28, at 7.30pm. Tickets are £18.50.
