E-fit clue in hunt for sex attacker of woman, 66

A WOMAN in her 60s was sexually assaulted by a man who is thought to have broken into her home in Huddersfield while she was asleep.

Yesterday police investigating the attack on the 66-year-old woman released an e-fit of the suspect.

The victim called police to report she had been assaulted in her home by a man who left the house through an open bedroom window at about 6.15am on Thursday.

Det Insp Nick Wallen of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team said: "The victim of this attack is currently being cared for by specially trained professionals. Fortunately she was not physically harmed but has been left badly shaken by what happened to her.

"She has, however, been able to describe her attacker as an Asian man who was wearing a long-sleeved top and who could

have been in his twenties or thirties. It is believed that he broke into the victim's home while she was asleep.

"This is a serious crime on a vulnerable woman and I would like to appeal for anyone who has any information that could assist us with our inquiries to contact the incident room at Eccleshill police station on 01274 376100."

Two men, aged 20 and 32, were arrested on Thursday in connection with this incident.

Both were bailed and have now been released without charge.
