Ed balls 'living in la la land'

Labour leadership contender Ed Balls was accused of living in 'la la land' for criticising the coalition cuts.

Nick Clegg singled out the Morley and Outwood MP, who has been a fierce critic of the Government’s plans to cut the deficit so quickly.

He said Mr Balls’ view of the future was a ‘la la land where you don’t have to take any difficult decision, no jobs are lost, no cuts are made, there is no pain, where everything miraculously recovers by osmosis’.

Mr Balls was a long-time adviser to Gordon Brown at the Treasury before becoming an MP.
