The annual conference, which was held in Leeds this year, attracts world renowned experts, education leaders, head teachers, and academics from around the world.

The conference is entitled Mind, Brain, Community: Inspiring Learners, Strengthening Resilience. Organisers say that speakers will be focussing on the mind in relation to learning, schools and healthy communities and also investigating the link between neuroscience and education.

Coun Jackie Drayton, Sheffield Council’s cabinet member for Children, Young People and Families said: “Innovative programming and a whole host of internationally recognised speakers has attracted top educational professionals, head teachers and academics from all across the UK.

“I am looking forward to listening to the eminent speakers and meeting delegates from other parts of the country. Sheffield is hosting the conference alongside a Festival of Learning which will give communities across the city the opportunity to celebrate and share in learning experiences. “

The event runs from January 16 to 18.
