Eiffel Tower clearedin bomb threat
Police in Paris last night evacuated the Eiffel Tower and the Saint-Michel metro station near Notre Dame Cathedral, following anonymous bomb threats made by telephone.
The Saint-Michel station was the target of a terrorist attack in 1995 that killed eight and injured scores of people.
About 2,000 people were cleared from the 1,063ft Eiffel Tower and police were checking it for suspicious objects.
