Eiffel Tower clearedin bomb threat
Police in Paris last night briefly evacuated the Eiffel Tower and the Saint-Michel metro station near Notre Dame Cathedral, following anonymous bomb threats made by telephone.
The Saint-Michel station was the target of a terrorist attack in 1995 that killed eight and injured scores of people.
About 2,000 people were cleared from the 1,063ft Eiffel Tower but the area was reopened when nothing suspicious was found.
