Election fever rises overDarling budget date
Alistair Darling is expected to announce the date of the budget this morning in a written ministerial statement to the House of Commons.
The date is believed to be March 24 which has sparked speculation that Prime Minister Gordon Brown will call a general election soon. Mr Brown is due to make a major speech on the economoy today.
