Eurostar managersrefuse new duties
Eurostar managers have voted to refuse to clear trains to leave stations, a function currently undertaken by platform staff.
The Rail Maritime and Transport union said its members will refuse to carry out “train-dispatch duties” imposed on them from next month.
The union argued that the move was a “cost-cutting and unreasonable extension” of the managers’ “already heavy” responsibilities.
