Explosion at pet food factory in Birstall, West Yorkshire
A WORKER has been hurt in an explosion at a pet food factory in West Yorkshire this morning.
A fire service spokesman said there had been a blast in a boiler house at Mars Complementary Pet Care on the Oakwell industrial estate at about 10am.
One man is being treated at the scene by paramedics, but his injuries are not thought to be serious.
The explosion was in oil-powered boiler in a boiler room. The blast blew out a prefabricated wall.
Fire crews were called from Morley and Leeds. They used one hose reel at the scene.
