Family pays tribute to motorway crash victim

THE family of a driver killed in a motorway crash have spoken of their loss.

Stuart Simpson, 37, of Pudsey, Leeds, died when his sweets delivery van and a lorry collided on the M62 between junctions 34 and 33 at Knottingley, last Wednesday.

His parents, Eric and Elizabeth Simpson, of Gipton, Leeds, said their son, a driver for confectionery wholesalers Palmer and Harvey, of Cross Green, Leeds, was a "totally devoted family man".

His father, town sales supervisor for Yorkshire Post Newspapers, said: "Stuart loved every minute he was out on the road with his job. But he adored his wife and family and was especially close to his mother."

He leaves a widow, Andrea, their daughter, Kerry, 13, and his own sister, Cheryl, 34. Mrs Simpson has three children, Donna, 30, Sarah, 28, and Paul, 26, by a previous marriage.
