Fans cheer charity cyclists

THOUSANDS of Huddersfield Town fans applauded 280 fellow supporters and club officials who cycled 250 miles to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the club’s youth academy.

The riders arrived at the Galpharm stadium on Saturday following a tough 250-mile journey from Yeovil, whom Town beat 2-0 at the weekend.

The riders included club chairman Dean Hoyle and former striker Andy Booth, now a club ambassador. Huddersfield businessman David Elliott, 40, though a self-confessed Sheffield Wednesday fan, surprised a few friends by running the entire distance, covering the equivalent of 10 marathons in 10 days.
