Fashioning help for India's poor

Michelle Webb, a student at the University of Leeds, and fellow student Nathan Gordon, 22, have organised a fashion show to help people in the slums of Delhi.

Ms Webb, who spent three months in India teaching English and maths to children as well as helping with a scheme to empower young women, has been inspired by her travels to organise The Gladrag Fashion Show for Asha, a charity which helps slum-dwellers, and Christian Aid.

The show takes place at Mook cocktail bar, Hirst's Yard, in Leeds city centre on Monday, May 3, at 8.30pm. It will feature work from up-and-coming local designers, as well as garments from Leeds stores. For tickets call 07500 110 595 or search for Gladrag Fashion Show on Facebook.
