Fatal crash pilot hadmedical problem

The pilot of an RAF training aircraft which crashed killing himself and a girl cadet suffered from a medical condition which may have prevented him seeing a glider in his path, accident investigators have revealed.

Pilot Mike Blee, 62, and cadet Nicholas Langley-Rice, 15, died when their aircraft collided with a glider in Oxfordshire in June last year. The report revealed the Flt/Lt Blee had ankylosing spondylitis, which restricted the movement of his head.
