Father of Leeds Utd manager honoured

THE father of Leeds United manager Simon Grayson has been honoured for dedicating more than 30 years to coaching cricket.

Adrian Grayson, who has earned the nickname of Mr Cricket on the North Yorkshire schools and youth cricket circuit, has been given this year's Hambleton Sports Council service to sport award.

He has been the team manager for Hambleton and Richmond schools cricket since 1974 and despite retiring as a teacher 16 years ago, still manages five North Yorkshire junior sides.

He is also chairman of Bedale Cricket Club and a member of the York and District Senior Cricket League Hall of Fame.
