Feast of sculpture at stately home

Internationally recognised artists and sculptors will be installing their work, including Lynne Chadwick's Three Elektras, right, in the grounds of a country estate next month as the latest in a series of exhibitions is launched.

The Beyond Limits event has been staged at Chatsworth House in Derbyshire for the past four years, and most of the pieces included in the event are for sale through auctioneer Sotheby's. This year artists including Damien Hirst, Manolo Valdes, Analdo Pomodoro, Marc Quinn, Suboda Gupta and Ju Ming will be showing work in the exhibition.

A Chatsworth spokesman said: "As it enters its fifth year, Beyond Limits is firmly established as one of the leading events in the artistic calendar. The exhibition attracts serious collectors as well as thousands of art-lovers and everyday visitors."

The Chatsworth House Trust and the Devonshire family have commissioned contemporary sculpture for display in the 105-acre garden since 1995 as a year-round attraction.

Beyond Limits, which runs for seven weeks, opens on September 13 and visitors will be able to see the exhibits by buying a standard garden ticket.

The popular Chatsworth Country Fair also takes place next week, starting on Friday, September 3 and running until Sunday, September 5.
