A few of my favourite Christmas decorations

Deck the halls, the trees and anything else you can find, says Sharon Dale

Yorkshire etched glass artist, Andy Poplar, makes these vintage optician lens decorations in letter-pressed sleeves. They are 14.95 for 1, 24.95 for 2 or 29.95 for a set of 3, www.vinegarandbrownpaper.co.uk

One of the loveliest moments at Christmastime is getting the old decorations out. Many of them bring back memories of Christmas past and have their own special place in the house. Some look jaded and cheap and these are the ones you need to replace. My advice is don't spend a fortune on a whole new set. Take your time and buy one or two beautiful, meaningful or fun pieces that you will treasure long-term.
