Filey makes the bucket (and spade) list

FILEY BEACH has been named the 11th best in the country by a travel website.

It won praise from reviewers on TripAdvisor who liked the clean, sandy beach and the Brigg.

Reviewer Daveeboy007, from Sheffield, said: “Filey is blessed with a wonderful bay and lovely clean sands. We walked the length of the beach on the most perfect early spring day.”

Twitter user Nicky Busby said: “I’ve seen many seals from the Brigg but check the tide times as it’s easy to lose track of the time.”

The top UK beach was Rhossili Bay in the Gower, Wales, followed by Woolacombe, Devon.

Porthminster beach, St Ives was third, with Hengistbury Head, Bournemouth, fourth.

Rhossili Bay was named third best beach in Europe for the second year in a row.

Top European beach was Rabbit Beach, Lampedusa, Italy, followed by Playa de ses Illetes, Formentera, Spain.
