Film artist throws open doors

Artist Mark Hearld's work is being showcased on cinema screens across the country – but the public can also see him at work in his home.

Mr Hearld, 36, from York, was commissioned to help decorate the set for the new children's film, Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang, which was released on Friday and stars Oscar-winning actress, Emma Thompson, inset.

He is also working on designing products for Tate Britain including silk scarves, cups and plates, as well as illustrating a book written by ex-Really Wild Show presenter, Nicola Davies.
