The Festival also features local artist Ashley Jackson, who will be introducing his favourite film, Brassed Off. on Sunday May 22 with a question and answer session with its director Mark Herman.

Festival director Stephen Dorril said: “We are bringing film to the Holme Valley and have tried – successfully I believe – to create a programme of events that really does have something of worth for everyone.

“There is already quite a buzz developing in anticipation of this year’s festival.

“There is nothing to top the communal experience of seeing a great film on a big screen.

It is also showcasing the best of more than 300 entries from across the globe in its Northern and International Short Film competitions.
