Finger-lickin’ grub: There’s a caterpillar on my KFC

A TEENAGER pulled a two-inch-long caterpillar from a corn-on-the-cob bought from a fast-food outlet.

Adrian Robertson was just about to start eating the snack, from a branch of KFC, with his girlfriend Rachel Fray when he saw a black dot poking out of the top of the corn, which he realised was a caterpillar.

The 18-year-old, from Huddersfield, said: “I didn’t know what it was at first, so I pulled it out. Much to my surprise, out came a long, squishy caterpillar’s body.”

They bought the food at KFC in Aspley, Huddersfield, which is part of a franchise.

A spokeswoman for the franchise said an investigation was under way: “We’re very sorry for Mr Robertson’s experience.

“Our corn cobettes arrive pre-washed and packed direct from our own suppliers and there are strict procedures in place at all stages of the food preparation process, so we are in contact with our suppliers to find out how this may have happened.”
