Fire crew rescue cow in York

FIREFIGHTERS rescued a cow after it got stuck in a fence in York.

A crew from Acomb dealt with the incident in a field behind York Sports Club on Shipton Road just before 11.30pm last night.

An RSPCA inspector alerted the fire service after The dairy cow became entangled in a galvanised steel fence

Firefighters used wire cutters to snip away the fencing from around the cow's back legs.

A vet also attended and checked over the cow, which suffered no apparent injuries in the incident.
