Fire crews rescue woman from balcony
A woman had to be rescued from the balcony of her burning flat during the early hours today.
Fire crews from Gipton were called to the fire involving two first floor flats above a shop on Harehills Lane at about 2am.
Crews from Leeds Central also attended the incident.
A firefighter said: “We rescued a woman from a balcony, a man was also helped to safety. The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
