Fishermen rescued as engine fails

Two fishermen had a lucky escape when their engine failed as they fished off the coast at Hornsea.

Two Bridlington lifeboats were called out to help the stricken vessel Ferriby 2 which had launched from Hornsea and was drifting after its anchor failed to hold it in bad weather on Friday.

Second Coxswain Stuart Tibbett said: “Both boat crews worked well together, which is what we train for, and on this occasion it was good to have my brother Simon on the helm of the inshore boat.”
