Flights hit at fog-shrouded airport

TRAVELLERS faced disruption as fog caused flight delays and cancellations at a Yorkshire airport.

The murky conditions hit a number of Leeds Bradford Airport services yesterday morning.

Leeds Bradford marketing director Tony Hallwood said it had been back to business as usual after lunchtime. Flights from London, Belfast and Aberdeen were cancelled during the disruption.

Services from Amsterdam, Palma and Berlin were diverted to Doncaster and Manchester airports.

A message on the airport’s Facebook page said: “As a result of adverse weather conditions, Leeds Bradford Airport is presently experiencing delays.

“We recommend you contact your airline or tour operator and check the status of your flight before arriving at the airport.”
