Football club teams up with drama academy

SHEFFIELD Wednesday has teamed up with a local performing arts school to launch a new programme offering acting training.

The Owls’ community programme will work with Carney Academy’s trained theatre professionals on the launch of the ‘Shout’ project.

It will be hosted first by the football club and later rolled out in schools and 
community centres, focuses on using drama 
as a tool for building confidence and social skills. Spencer Taylor, from Sheffield Wednesday, said: “The Shout programme is all about giving young people the training and resources they otherwise wouldn’t have access to.” Ruth Carney-Nash, also pictured, added: “Sheffield Wednesday has an incredible legacy and we are very excited to be working together.”
