Football fun day should be a ball

people with learning disabilities are being invited to take part in a football fun day shortly.

The day is being organised by staff from South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, which provides specialist NHS learning disability services to people in Barnsley, Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield.

During the day people will be able to get involved with lots of football-related activities including 5-a-side matches, penalty shoot outs and coaching sessions.

It has been organised by the Trust’s inclusion team, in partnership with James Doyle, the Disability Football Development Officer for West Riding.

Nigel McLoughlin, professional lead nurse for learning disabilities at the Trust said: “This event is an excellent opportunity for local people with learning disabilities to get involved, not only in their local communities but also in sport.”

The fun day will be held on Tuesday, September 20, at the Zone in Huddersfield. It will run from 10.45am – 2pm at the Zone, 1 St Andrew’s Road, Huddersfield,
