Footballer fined
for speeding

Footballer Kieron Dyer has been fined for a speeding offence after failing to attend court yesterday.

The QPR midfielder, of West Bergholt, Essex, previously denied a charge of failing to identify the driver of a Porsche.

He was due to stand trial at Lowestoft Magistrates’ Court yesterday but instead he pleaded guilty in his absence to an alternative charge of speeding by driving at 50mph in a 40mph zone in Ipswich. Dyer, 33, who had a clean driving licence, was fined £45 and ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge.
