Former finance chief accused of stealing £1.3m from firm

A FORMER finance director accused of stealing more than £1.3m from her employers made her first appearance at court yesterday.

Rebecca Jones, 45, of Cullingworth Fields, Cullingworth, in Bradford, was granted unconditional bail by Leeds magistrates and told to return on September 23 when the case will be committed to crown court.

The mother-of-two's former employer, Squirrel Storage of Leeds, offers data storage facilities to the business community.

Jones began work at the firm as a debt collector 10 years ago before becoming the principal person in its financial department. Her appointment as finance director lasted for two years until her departure in October of 2009.
