Four pupils injured as bus and van crash

Four school pupils and a driver have been injured when a double-decker bus and a van crashed.

The accident happened near Murthly, Perthshire, yesterday morning when the bus carrying four secondary school children collided with a red Volkswagen Caravelle van.

The 34-year-old van driver was trapped and had to be cut free. He sustained a head injury and a broken collarbone. His condition was “serious but not life threatening” in hospital, Tayside Police said.

A 15-year-old boy on the bus suffered a slight shoulder injury and was taken to hospital as a precaution. Three other children on the bus suffered minor injuries.
