Free membership offered at centre

The Pods, in Ashby Road, will open on July 4 and will feature a range of facilities including an eight-lane swimming pool, a training pool, a large split-level gym, a six-court sports hall, a spa, sauna, steam room, exercise room, creche and cafe.

For a £20 joining fee and for those who have made 12 monthly payments of £32.20, the first 100 to join will get three months free membership for the second year, the second 100 will get two months free, the third 100 will get one month free, while the fourth 100 will have the joining fee waived.

John Briggs, deputy leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: “There are some fantastic offers to entice new members, though I think once people see the building for themselves they’ll not need much encouragement.

“The Pods is an incredibly exciting building. A great deal of hard work has gone into the project and I’m sure when people see it, they’ll appreciate all it has to offer.”
