Funding to fight drink problems
More than £1m is to be spent tackling alcohol-related harm in Bradford and Airedale.
Some 92,000 people drink at hazardous levels in the district and 17,000 of these at harmful levels.
New funding from the area’s new NHS clinical commissioning groups (CCGs); Bradford City, Bradford Districts and Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven, will expand the range of alcohol misuse services on offer.
Dr Andy Withers, shadow clinical chair of Bradford Districts CCG, said tackling the harm caused by alcohol is a top priority.
