Gang who set dog on man still hunted

DETECTIVES have made another appeal for information about an attack in which a 39-year-old man was assaulted by a group of men who also set a dog on him.

The attack took place at a business park in Kilnhurst, Rotherham, but officers said they have so far had a "disappointing" response to their appeals for information.

The victim was left with a broken jaw and serious bite wounds to his right forearm following the incident, which happened a at about 7pm on Thursday last week.

Officers were called to the scene by nearby workers who came to the man's rescue after hearing his screams.

The victim was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary, where he underwent surgery. He was released from hospital on Tuesday, but has a number of follow-up appointments to check his injuries.
