General election chance to put your question to party leaders

Readers of the Yorkshire Post are to have a rare opportunity to quiz party leaders in the run-up to this spring's General Election.

Conservative leader David Cameron has already faced an audience of readers, ahead of the expected May 6 election, which could

be decided on who winsvital marginal seats in Yorkshire.

A second Question Time will be held with Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg on Friday.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown has also been invited to face questions but has yet to confirm a date.

No questions will be off limits – whether it is the NHS, rural affairs, crime or immigration – when they visit our offices, and Mr Clegg, MP for Sheffield Hallam,is prepared for the challenge.

"As the General Election approaches, it is now more important than ever for politicians to get out of Westminster and engage

with people about how to rebuild our economy and restore trust in politics," he said.

"We want all three leaders to hear the message from Yorkshire so that they are left in no doubt what is expected of them post-election. It is going to be a difficult period for the next Government to balance priorities and it is important that we provide them with a clear view of our dreams and concerns."
