Gove plans to cap headteachers' pay

Headteachers' pay may be capped under plans being considered by Education Secretary Michael Gove.

Under the proposals, no school leader would be paid more than the Prime Minster, who now earns 142,500 after a pay cut. The top of the pay scale for head teachers is 109,000 for those at the largest London state schools, but governors are allowed to offer more.
