Grim weather 
takes huge toll 
of marine life

The wind that has caused many of the problems for marine life should be dropping off after today, although it will remain unseasonally cold.

Today there will be an easterly wind blowing on the coast, gusting to 35mph, but that should be down to just four to five mph as the week progresses.

Met Office forecaster Sarah Holland said: “We are gradually going to see a change towards the end of the week, more unsettled weather and rain coming through, but the wind dropping right off.

“The temperature will still be below average for this time of year. As we get towards mid April temperatures are expected to be closer to the seasonal average.”
