Guns and drugs seized in raids

Police have seized items including two saw-off shotguns and made sixty arrests during a two week clampdown on gun and drug crimes in Bradford.

Officers also seized a home-made stun gun and 94 rounds of ammunition during the operation.

Class A and Class B drugs with an estimated value of £438,000 were also recovered along with £176,000 in cash.

Chief Insp Dan Greenwood, in charge of crime and operations in the district, said officers had received valuable help from the public.

“The majority of our seizures related to Class A and B drugs including heroin and crack cocaine. Drugs, however; can often walk hand in hand with the use or possession of firearms and by removing one we can tackle the other.

“A home-made stun gun was recovered from an address in Heaton last week, where a Mercedes and a £60,000 Nissan GTR were seized.”
