Help for budding stars of business

A NEW "academy" which aims to boost the careers of young business people in Sheffield is set to be launched tomorrow.

The project is being organised by Junior Chamber International (JCI), which specialises in the development of professionals in their twenties and thirties.

The newly-appointed president of the Sheffield branch, Kate Senter, said the academy aimed to "offer members a structured and formally recognised framework which records achievements and recognises successes and development throughout the year."

Ms Senter, who is also internal communications manager at the Irwin Mitchell law firm, said: "We have a great team at JCI Sheffield, from both public and private sectors, and it's an exciting time as we have some fantastic events, speakers and workshops lined up. The event at Wig and Pen will certainly be a lively one, coinciding with their own official launch evening.

"There is huge entrepreneurial talent within Sheffield and at JCI Sheffield we understand the importance of recognising these individuals and helping them shine."
