Historic city setting for new film festival
The Aesthetica Short Film Festival (ASFF) will feature 150 films from countries across the globe, screened in 14 locations across York including medieval halls, tourist destinations and contemporary art spaces.
The programme will also include a series of workshops from industry experts such as Ivana MacKinnon, associate producer of Slumdog Millionaire and Matt Greenhalgh, screen writer on Control and Nowhere Boy.

Hide AdIt is hoped that the festival, which takes place between November 3 and November 6, will build on the hugely successful Leeds International Film Festival and the Sheffield Doc/Fest.
The chief executive of Visit York, Gillian Cruddas, said: “York’s first short film festival will attract thousands of new visitors and raise the bar of the city’s cultural offering. It is such a coup to have top class producers such as Ivana MacKinnon taking part and we offer our full support to this dynamic and innovative event.”
