Horse rider sought in sex assault probe

POLICE investigating an alleged serious sexual assault believe a horse rider may have vital information.

The rider, believed to be a woman, was riding in the Kirkham Priory area, near Malton, at about 7.30am on Tuesday, October 29, last year.

Police said the occupants of a small white van were disturbed by the horse and rider, although the rider may be unaware of this.

A man is currently remanded in custody and awaiting trial for a number of serious offences, including rape, however police are keen to speak to the horse rider. Witnesses can call police on 101.
