Injured soldier walks tall again for wedding

WAR hero Ben Parkinson has been fitted with new artificial legs as he recovers from injuries sustained in Afghanistan in 2006.

Lance Bombardier Parkinson, 26, from Doncaster, was 6ft 4½in before he lost both legs in a roadside bomb blast. He now stands at 6ft 3in. He said: ‘My brother Philip is getting married in July and I’m best man. I want to walk for my brother’s wedding and make a speech. That’s my goal.’ Physiotherapist Robert Shepherd, pictured, has been helping.
