insomnia drugs warning

Drugs to treat insomnia or anxiety could increase the risk of dying by 36 per cent, Canadian experts said.

Analysis of data from more than 14,000 people found those who took the drugs at least once in the month before the survey had a higher chance of dying from any cause.

The review took into account factors likely to influence the results, including whether people drank heavily or smoked, were fit and took exercise and whether they were depressed.
