Inspectors compliment special school

A SPECIAL school in Rotherham has been rated "outstanding" by Ofsted inspectors.

In their report, the inspectors said that pupils at Hilltop School in Maltby receive a "first-rate education" and make "remarkable progress in their learning and personal development". The report also described the school, in Larch Road, as having "inspirational, visionary leadership" and being a "school that embraces all learners."

Headteacher Peter Leach said: "The staff, pupils, governors and parents at Hilltop are extremely pleased with the inspection report. This is clear recognition of the hard work of staff, pupils, parents, volunteers and governors who have worked hard since the last inspection to ensure that the school has continued to improve.

"We are looking forward to a very positive future for our whole school community."
